The Schüco Campus. Conversion. Expansion. New build

For over 70 years, Schüco has been a renowned system provider for windows, doors and façades with over 6,750 employees worldwide. The Schüco Campus in Bielefeld complements the company's premises, which have grown over the years, with the Schüco One company headquarters. The building, designed by Copenhagen-based architects 3XN, is characterised by innovative technology and a comprehensive sustainability concept. The Schüco Welcome Forum has also been built on the campus.
The agency D'art Design Gruppe GmbH from Neuss designed a connecting outdoor guidance system for the entire site based on the "Frame" stele concept. The design language is based on the profiles of window and façade elements. Made of aluminium, painted in anthracite satin matt and homogeneously illuminated all round, the stelae are reminiscent of a segment of Schüco's broad product portfolio. The stelae, which were manufactured by control system specialist meng, are available in three sizes.

  • With a height of 6,000 mm and a width of 2,260 mm, the L-stelae are particularly eye-catching and are used for rough signposting as well as for the striking presentation of the brand on access routes.
  • The M-stelae have a height of approx. 4,000 mm in proportion to the L-stelae.They are suitable for specific signposting with a long-distance effect and a shorter viewing distance.
  • With a height of 2,400 mm, the S steles are ideal for target confirmation with a short viewing distance and are used, for example, for building labelling.

The inlays of the steles are made of aluminium and serve as a communication surface. They are labelled with full-surface digital prints that are protected with a UV protective laminate. The multi-storey car park versions of the columns have displays on both sides and can be used to display current information digitally. The outdoor guidance system as a whole is a perfect symbiosis of design and functionality.
